Spring & Summer Workshops - Digital Artefacts for Learner Engagement (DiAL-e)
..........................................................
www.dial-e.net
...........................................................
DiAL-e workshops are taking place:
Belfast (UK) at ALDinHE 18-20 April 2011
Qatar at ICT in Education 16-18 April 2011
Wisconsin (USA) at 27th Annual Conference on Distance Teaching and Learning.
We recognise that there are many tools, many models and frameworks,
some with downloadable editing applications and some with toolkits. We
believe the DiAL-e continues to be a practical and useful conceptual,
as well as practical, framework and we want to find ways that make it
particularly effective for pracrtitioners in different contexts.
New Web Resources
........................................
Since 2006 the DiAL-e framework has developed significantly. It has
been adapted in response to comments from over 150 workshop
participants in the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia and has
been presented at conferences in these countries as well as Singapore,
Hong Kong, Croatia and Estonia. Kevin and I have written two book
chapters and contributed the DiAL-e to a number of international
projects.
In the last 3 months we have developed a new web presence. A website
at 'www.dial-e.net' brings together the projects resources, guidance
and development updates in one place. There are also discussion pages
which we hope will allow us to collect community insights. This
website is linked to a new YouTube channel at
'www.youtube.com/dialeproject' with examples, explanations and, from
June 1st, the opportunity to gather contributions from you, on what
you believe is effective in the use of digital artefacts, notably but
not exclusively video.
We hope that you will engage with the DiAL-e by subscribing to the
YouTube channel and commenting on the dial-e.net website.

The initial funding for this project only lasted 16 months and ended
in 2008, but the project is ongoing and is being developed, it will be
enhanced further by your participation
