The Paterson Institute is a leading cancer centre of excellence core-funded by Cancer Research UK and is an Institute of The University of Manchester.
An exciting opportunity is currently available for a motivated biostatistician to join a large multidisciplinary team in their ongoing efforts towards personalised medicine for cancer patients. The post holder will drive forward innovation in the design of clinical trials implementing composite biomarkers. He/she will be responsible for biostatistical analyses within translational research projects relating predictive, prognostic and/or pharmacodynamic biomarkers to clinical endpoints. In additional to standard biostatistics approaches, experience in Bayesian modelling and/or mixed effects modelling is desirable. The post holder will be based in Manchester but have frequent interaction with clinical trial methodology experts based at the University of Birmingham.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Statistics applied to Medicine and ideally, have experience in clinical trial design and working at the interface between the laboratory and the clinic.
