MRI (DTI/fMRI/ASL) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
(available immediately)
Center for Systems Imaging
Department of Radiology & Imaging Sciences
Emory University, Atlanta, GA, USA
Qualified candidates are sought to fill a postdoctoral position available at the Emory University Center for Systems Imaging to carryout research in advanced MR imaging (fMRI, ASL, DTI), and image analysis, and signal processing projects on brain function and pathology. Projects include structural and functional connectivity of brain, advanced imaging and data analysis methods for fMRI paradigms involving speech, calibration methods for BOLD fMRI studies, and examination of diseased tissue with ASL, DSC and MRI relaxometry. Selected candidate will also be encouraged to develop his/her own independent research projects.
State-of-the-art human brain imaging facilities dedicated to this research include a 3T Siemens Trio TIM with 32 receiver channels, and a full complement of fMRI and physiological monitoring equipment. Access to a state of the art 3T Siemens Skyra whole-body MR system, Siemens HRRT PET and micro-PET imaging systems, as well as 128-channel Neuroscan and 64-channel BrainProducts MR-compatible EEG systems, are also be available. Research collaborations can be undertaken with top-notch investigators at biomedical engineering, neurology and other departments at Emory, Georgia Tech and Georgia State Universities.
The ideal postdoctoral candidates will have a Ph.D. in electrical or biomedical engineering, physics, chemistry or a related discipline (including neuroscience/neuroimaging) with primary experience in DTI, fMRI, or ASL. Programming skills in C/C++, Matlab, and Unix/Linux and scientific computing, as well as experience with AFNI, FSL, and SPM, are highly desired. Secondary experience with MRI pulse sequence programming, parallel imaging, image processing, or statistical signal processing would be helpful.
The initial two-year appointment, funded by the Emory University Department of Radiology & Imaging Sciences, is renewable for additional years contingent upon continued funding and performance. This is an exciting opportunity to do research using state-of-the-art imaging facilities in a stimulating multidisciplinary collaborative environment.
