Hi Fred,
The Matlab error message suggests 2 possibilities:
1. You moved your functional volumes. (This is a very common topic on the forum) In this case, you will want to change the name of the path in the SPM.mat file by using spm_changepath OR you can move the data back to the original location.
2. You specified the f-contrast as the 2nd contrast in your contrast manager, so your index should be 2. (if it was the 3rd contrast, then index will be 3 and so on...)

Subject: [SPM] VOI batch - Adjust data - index of F-contrast used
Hi All,
I am trying to use the Volume of Interest batch, but I can't seem to set it up to pick out the data from my f contrast. In my first level model, I set up an f contrast called 'effects of interest.' Now in the VOI batch, there a option to "Adjust data" with instructions stating "Index of F-contrast to adjust data. Enter '0' for no adjustment" I want adjustment, so I input 1, but then the batch crashes with the following error:
## Note: this VOI facility is in a beta version. ##
## Interface and features might change in the future. ##
Failed 'Volume of Interest'
Cant open image file.

In file "C:\Users\username\Research\SPM8\config\spm_run_voi.m" (v3531), function "spm_run_voi" at line 68.
The image generated from my f test is ess_0002. How can I input that into the VOI batch? What does "index of F-contrast used' mean here?
Thanks!!
