Dear SPMers,
I've been trying to run VBM8 with customized DARTEL templates using 3 modules specified in the old VBM8 manual. The modules include "VBM8: Estimate & Write", "Run DARTEL (create Templates)" and "Create Warped".
However, I've noticed that, in the new manual (uploaded on 7 MAR 2011), the last step ("Create Wared") has been replaced with "VBM8: Write already estimated segmentations". So, could someone please explain why this change has been made? In addition, I would appreciate it if someone would tell me whether the "Create Warped" can still be considered as a valid step.
Also, under "VBM8: Write already estimated segmentations", I cannot specify my own template (created from "Run DARTEL (create Templates)"). On page 26 of the manual, it says...
Extended Options --> “High‐dimensional:DARTEL” (default) --> Select DARTEL Template
However, I cannot find the menu. The most similar one that I found is...
Extended Options --> Spatial normalization (this gives me only 2 options ("Low-dimensional: SPM default" and "High-dimensional: Dartel")
So, I would be grateful if someone would tell me how to go about it.
Lastly, if I run "VBM8: Write already estimated segmentations" as the last stage of VBM8 processing, would it still be useful to do the affine transformation for DARTEL export (as shown below) again? Or is this only for DARTEL template creation and therefore unnecessary at this stage?
Writing options --> Grey matter --> DARTEL export --> affine
Thank you all very much for taking time to read my questions. I would be even more grateful if anyone would answer these questions.
Best wishes,
Kie Woo
