RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (part-time) Grade 6
£30,700 to £36,715 (incl. London Allowance) p.a. pro-rata
The Unit for Medical Statistics at King's College London has ten staff
including a Professor, Reader, three Lecturers, and a PhD student
in Medical Statistics.
It is located at the Guy's Hospital campus and within the Department
of Primary Care and Public Health Sciences. Research interests of
Unit staff include dichotomisation, development of methods for the
analysis of pain scores, meta-analysis and clustering in trials.
We are seeking a medical statistician to join the Unit to work with
Professor Janet Peacock in methodological research projects that
have arisen from clinical collaborations. The postholder will also
contribute to the consulting and teaching provided by the Unit.
You should have a Masters in medical statistics or equivalent
and a PhD in mathematics and/or statistics, with a sound knowledge
of statistical methods of analysis, and an understanding of the
design and conduct of randomised trials.
It will be important for you to have the ability to develop statistical
methods and/or solutions within medical research studies, and to be
effective at communicating statistics through teaching and consulting
with medical students and clinical researchers.
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who can work
independently as needed, and who can multi-task and prioritise
their workload effectively.
This is a part-time post (0.4 full-time equivalent) that is funded
for 3 years.
