I think we should start charging for solutions as yet undiscovered by
GPs/consultants etc, or at least get someone to fund a crystal
ball......

Hello Sharon, she has had several episodes since having the surgery and
we have looked at lifestyle, work (lab clerical officer), but her
sickness has increased and she has on occasions to take days off to
recuperate. I don't think she was looking at mitigating circumstances
more the OH dept having a solution as if often the case, nice they have
such faith in us!
Trevor, thank you for your repose also. It's all very odd

Is the reason for the query because the lady in question cites this link
as some form of mitigation for repeated absence?

Chris,
I think you have it precisely: "coincidentally".
It's most likely a simple temporal relationship and there's no reason
why there should have to be a causal relationship.
It is easy enough to traumatize the pharynx, but you'd need a really
kack-handed anaesthetist to traumatize the tonsils & set up an ongoing
tonsillitis.
If she was mouth breathing & receiving oxygen for a prolonged period
oxygen post-operatively, she might have developed a temporarily dry
mucosa, but it's unlikely that this would result in anything other than
a sore throat for 72 hours.
Regards
Trevor

I have a lady seen this am who had laparoscopic choleycystectomy
recently and has coincidentally started with tonsillitis since. Several
epsiodes. I cannot find research to determine why this should be so I am
posting to see if anyone can give me some ideas please. The only
possible link I can think of is trauma but its a really long shot.
