Dear Nigel
I would suggest you try and find out what kind of plastic they are made
from. The lower half of the trays is quite hard and shiny, so probably
not polypropylene. You can get clip-on clear plastic lids that look
like polyethylene to me.
Polyethylene and polypropylene are fine.

Subject: testing 'Gratnells' lidded containers
Many museums now use 'Gratnells' lidded containers for storing specimens
in
some natural history collections.
Does anyone know if these containers have been put through accelerated
aging
tests, Oddy tests or been sampled for VOCs etc to test for their
long-term
suitability? Any info would be very welcome.
Many thanks, Nigel.
