Dear Colleagues,
does anyone of you have experience in using solid state lasers instead
of argon ion lasers at visible wavelengths (e.g. 532 nm) for pure
rotational and ro-vibrational Raman spectroscopy in the gas phase. Is it
possible to use inexpensive OEM versions of (diode pumped solid state)
DPSS lasers instead of expensive lasers of the main laser companies?
What is the sideband suppression needed? What is the coherence length
needed?
What is your experience?
What is the minimum pressure of a gas detected with your system?
Any comments and recommendations are welcome.
With kind regards,
Stephan Schlemmer
