medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
A query to the art historians on the list (especially Marjorie!) Iīm trying to find pictures of the golden altars
from the national museum of Denmark, more specifically the crucifixes with the straight-standing, open-eyed Christ, BIT ENOUGH TO PROJECT IN A CLASSROOM. Iīve found several reproductions on eg Google Images,
but the definition is too small to be able to show them in class. Ditto for the Isenheim altarpiece (though I havenīt started to hunt for that one yet.) I want to find some good 'before' and 'after' images of the heroic vs. the
suffering Christ. Any suggestions for links with high enough definition?
Thanks in advance,
Meg
