Booking is open for the CILIPS Annual Conference 2011 which will take place at the Mitchell Library in Glasgow 7 – 8 June.

Day One of the Conference features 3 strands: Digital Libraries, Further and Higher Education and Professional Practice.
In a packed opening day, CILIP CEO Annie Mauger will offer an opening keynote on ‘Defining our professional future’ before being followed by other speakers including Alan Reid, CILIPS President 2011 Owen Stephens, TELSTAR Project Manager, Open University, and Rachel Bruce, JISC, Craig Mills, JISC RSC Scotland NE Andy Nagle, Apple, Caroline Walker, JISC RSC Scotland NE looking at QR codes, Huddersfield University discussing the library impact data project and Glasgow University will explore institutional mobile apps strategies. Ellen Collins from the RIN will discuss their recent publication, ‘Social Media a guide for researchers’ and this will be followed by a witness session featuring two researchers from Queen Margaret University on the practical aspects of using social media

Day Two of the Conference features 3 strands: reader development, professional practice and CILIPS Branch and Group day sponsored sessions.
A range of speakers will follow the Presidential Address from Alan Reid including David Potts, Birmingham City Council Shona Hill, Falkirk Council Natasha Innocent, Race Online 2012, Will Kilbride from the Digital Preservation Coalition, Linda Tomos, CYMAL and a special feature on case studies in ebook use featuring public and education libraries.
