Writing research proposals: introductory and follow up workshops and
Research Awards offered by the Library and Information Research Group
(LIRG)
LIRG are running two half day workshops in the coming weeks, facilitated
by successful researchers. These are being offered in various locations
and will include an introductory session aimed at those new to research
and proposal writing and a follow up for those interested in submitting a
proposal and receiving feedback.

The workshops are particularly geared to those who are interested in
submitting proposals for the LIRG Research Awards (see below).
Booking for the Northampton Workshop is extended until Friday 24th March
2011 LIRG Research Awards - closing date is 13 May 2011.
The purpose of the Award is to encourage research and innovation in
library and information science. Particular attention will be paid to
proposals intended to improve the accessibility, retrievability and
usefulness of information. The maximum value of the Award is £2000.
The Award may be used to defray research expenses (e.g. travel, postage
costs) to fund attendance at high level meetings or to fund a study tour.
