I don't know why, but I keep thinking that this was a play from the 70s or 80s about a guy in a wheelchair who decided it was so awful he wanted to die. I can't find any reference to it though.

Many of you will be familiar with the above phrase.as part of BBC's Ouch!,
as related to a disabled person/wheelchair user being ignored while the
