We are running a two-day workshop on 'Towards Total Information Management: Moving your Content to a New Environment', which is being held in Hertfordshire on 5-6 April. Full details can be viewed here: http://www.i-b-e.co.uk/Information+Management+April+2011
This two-day workshop, aimed at senior and mid-level IT and information managers, will provide an end-to-end picture of the steps required to plan, resource and implement the migration of documents and records from their existing repositories (shared drives, e-mail systems, document management systems, etc) to a new environment. The principles will apply to any technical environment, but practical examples will be drawn primarily from SharePoint, Documentum and LiveLink.
This workshop will cover the following in detail:
* Getting to grips with the information you create and use and developing a strategy which identifies how it should be managed over its lifecycle
* Ensuring that staff can find the information they want quickly and efficiently by creating an organisation-wide file plan for all your information which supports browsing, sharing and management of content
* Implementing a content migration strategy that ensures the right content is moved across to the right place and understanding what to do with the content that isn't being migrated
* Undertaking staff training to coincide with the migration and go-live dates so there is no gap in continuity
Due to the interactive nature of the workshop, attendance is strictly limited to 25 delegates and it is proving to be very popular. Cost to attend the two-day workshop is £680 + VAT per delegate at the residential rate (includes workshop fee, dinner, bed and breakfast for one night) or workshop only at £580 + VAT per delegate.
