Dear Colleagues,

The IEEE and its sales agent, Content Online Ltd, are launching a proposal to form an English consortium for the IEEE's flagship product - IEEE / IET Digital Library

The proposal has been developed in conjunction with Prof. Roger D Pollard Emeritus Professor, The University Of Leeds (formerly Dean of Engineering) and 2010 IEEE Vice-President, Technical Activities. Prof. Pollard will be writing to all Universities and Colleges in England on this subject very soon.

The IEEE / IET Digital Library contains the following, in many cases back to first issue, over 2.8 million articles:

IEEE Conference Papers
IET Conference Papers
IEEE Journals, Transactions & Magazines
IET Journals, Transactions & Magazines
IEEE Active Standards

As you may be aware, there are already a large number of universities in England subscribing to IEL, however there are many other universities and colleges in England that don't but would like to take an IEL subscription.

We are proposing to form an English consortium and would like to invite you to a regional meeting at one of the following 7 locations and dates to find out more:

Wednesday, 6th April 2011 - 8am - 9am - Holiday Inn, Harrogate, UKSG Week (this event is only 5 minutes walk from the UKSG Conference)

Wednesday, 27th April 2011 - 1pm - 3pm - University of Salford
Thursday, 28h April 2011 - 10am - 12pm - Aston University, Birmingham
