Dear all,
Can anybody help me verify some information on Alber Einstein?
I work for the UK Border Agency Museum which is based at the Albert Docks in Liverpool. As part of our remit we are researching the history of Immigration. We have recently seen a landing card in archival material belonging to the UK Border Agency which records Albert Einstein’s arrival into England on 26th May 1933. I am looking to find out a little bit more about Einstein’s movements during this period, and have found varying different accounts on the internet. Would you be able to help me verify whether he is believed to have entered England on this date? I Would lalso ike to know how long he resided here and on which date he left for the USA.
The landing card states that his port of embarkation was Oostende, and port of arrival Dover on 26/05/1933. It also includes his birth date as 1879, It states his profession is Professor and that he was headed for Oxford.
Any help would be greatfully received.
Many thanks in anticipation
