Hi Larry
not particularly sinister, and you're quite wrong. It is an EU funded network involving partnership between Universities, advocacy organisations and technology sector partners based absolutely in a paradigm of accessibility, human rights and social model approaches. The point is precisely to examine how UN Convention rights are established, protected and ensured in markets (which you rightly suggest can work against this).
Good research should always engage and be critical. Studying markets (or medicine for that matter) is something that isn't done often enough and we ought to be more wary about research that only talks to our friends...first know your enemy, as they say... ;-)

New Marie Curie Initial Training Network
DREAM - Disability Rights Expanding Accessible Markets
14 Ph.D. / Early Stage Research positions on Disability Rights and Accessibility
The Marie Curie Initial Training Network, DREAM, is seeking to recruit 14 Ph.D. / Early Stage Researchers who will research how the rights contained in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities can be transformed into practical recommendations for reform of law and policy within the member states and at EU level. Each of the 14 research positions corresponds to an article of the Convention and researchers will be based at one of 7 network partners across Europe. Researchers will be employed from 1 September 2011 for 3 years and supported to complete a PhD at the host institution or an affiliated university. For further information on the positions available and how to apply can be found at www.nuigalway.ie/dream
