Abstract
Sofia Galligani will provide an overview of a multi-city demand model, covering 22 urban metros around the world. The talk will focus on the key drivers of metro demand and their weights from a modelling perspective. She will discuss estimations of the effects that bus and metro fares, fuel prices, income and quality of service have on metro patronage. The data has been provided by the Railway and Transport Strategy Centre (RTSC) at Imperial College London and has been used in two urban metro benchmarking exercises, CoMET and NOVA.
