To the SPM experts,
I am trying to set a 2nd-level factorial analysis based on contrast images taken from 1st-analysis FIR model.
The software being used: SPM8 (version: 8.4010) and Matlab 7.11.0 (R2010b).
In the 2nd-analysis model specification, I am using full factorial design with 2 factors: the first is 'experiment_conditions' composed of 3 levels [conditions A,B and C] and the second factor 'time_bins' composed of 32 levels [for each time bin I have].
After setting the correct order of the cells with the relevant con images from the 1st analysis I encountered a strange problem.
When I first (mistakenly) set the two factors Independent value to 'Yes', the model specification batch ran and later I could estimate the model and continue the analysis.
However later I realized that I need to change both my factors to be dependent so I switched the Independent value to 'No' for both factors and since this moment the model specification refuses to run. In the command window of Matlab I don't get any warnings but only the notification that the factorial design specification process is running - but this keeps forever [and there is not even generation of the SPM.mat file that I would expect in the desired folder].
Is there any solution to this strange problem? or maybe it is related to some lack of my understanding?
I hope you can help me with this one,
Thank you very much for your time in advance,
