Hi Andy,
Yes we also have oracle and yes some academics do resist it as they don't
want anyone (even their PA bizarrely) knowing what they do but it is
unfounded. In oracle I can set different levels of access to the
information. So for instance anyone outside Staff Development can see chunks
of time blocked out but not what I am doing at that time, so people can
still book meetings with me by using the scheduler or looking to see when
there are no blocks. Staff Development colleagues can see most items
including what I am doing but if I label it as 'private; even they can't see
the details.
If I have a conversation with colleagues who are a bit nervous about using
oracle I remind them that for confidentiality reasons, HR colleagues also
need to limit access to the details of their diaries (names of person we're
meeting) and it works for us.
Regards
Angie

Hi Andrew
We use oracle calendar amongst all staff - yes it does have it's issues but
overall it's been a big improvement.
