The centenary of Alan Turing's birth falls in June of 2012, and at that time the Computer Journal will publish a special issue (SI) devoted to "What is Computation" -- one of the questions for which Alan Turing attempted to provide an answer. The SI will contain a series of brief papers describing different views about Computation, as well as in depth research and review papers.
Contributions for this special issue should be submitted to the Computer Journal, via its Manuscript Central web site at
http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/compj
where all useful information can be found, including the preparation of manuscripts and their format.
Papers for this special issue should be submitted before 15th September 2011.
The 50 year old Computer Journal has had a significant re-development in the last three years, with annual submissions rising from 200/year to 700/year from early 2008 to early 2011. It is published by the British Computer Society (BCS) and Oxford University Press, and is distributed across the world. It typically contains 120-130 papers per year.
Best wishes, Erol Gelenbe (Editor in Chief)
