FINAL CALL FOR PAPERS AND PERFORMANCES

Connected Communities: global or local2local?

The DRHA 2011 Conference
Digital Resources for the Humanities and Arts
Sunday 4th September - Wednesday 7th September 2011
University of Nottingham Ningbo, China

http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/drha/index.aspx

In 2011 the DRHA conference will explore the new connectivities in societies and
cultures which are enabled by the blending of virtual and physical space, the
traversing of time and space through the virtual, and the evolution of innovative
methodologies. Crossing disciplines and challenging boundaries within the
humanities, arts and the creative industries, this conference will examine
critically familiar notions of the ‘local’, the ‘global’ and the
‘network’ across the cultural spectrum.

Confirmed key note speakers include:

Masaki Fujihata (Director of Graduate school of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts)
Aphra Kerr (Dept. of Sociology, National University of Ireland, Maynooth)
Stephen Robertson (Dept. of History, University of Sydney, Australia)

The final deadline for submissions is 21st February 2011.
Abstracts should be approx 600 words.
