The summit builds on three previous successful meetings, each of which attracted over 150 delegates from 65 Higher Education Institutions. This event is organised by The Centre for Excellence in Media Practice - Bournemouth University, hosted by Ravensbourne and supported by Skillset and the Art, Design and Media Higher Education Subject Centre.

We are now inviting proposals for papers and panel discussions relating to the conference themes. Please submit a short abstract of up to 600 words, including references. The best papers from the Media Education Summit 2011 will form part of a special edition of the Media Education Research Journal (MERJ).

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
