Hi,
I just embedded a You Tube video into an item and it works fine.
Problem though is that the video covers the edit dropdown menu and I
cannot get to any of the options. I can click on the down chevron, the
options "dropdown" but I cannot see them. However I found out that that
is because I am using the new embed code.
If I use the old embed code, no problem.
Regards,
Arthur

Thanks all for replying
I have found a workaround for now - which maybe obvious to some!
What you can do is go to the Youtube video you want to use and click the
Embed button on the Youtube page. This will reveal some html code.
Highlight and copy the code. You can then go into a Blackboard Content
area, click the Build Content button and choose create Item. Give it a
title and then you need to click on the <> button in the main textbox
area (this takes you into HTML mode) and then paste the code you copied
from Youtube then click submit. You should find it has embedded the
video.
The other way is to create a URL from the Build Content button and paste
the link to the Youtube and select open up in another window.
Cheers
Phil

Hi Phil,
We too have logged this as a problem and Blackboard have identified an
incompatibility with their mashup and some recent changes to the Youtube
site.
I have been given no schedule for a fix.
The Slideshare mashup also does not work in you are using proxy servers.
This is scheduled for a fix in SP8.
It worries me that there are that there are enough higher priority bugs
to fill 4 service packs before they get to this one ;-)

Hello all,
Just reported this issue to our technical support and they reckon it is
an issue with YouTube (see attached image). Anyone experienced the same
or similar?
The YouTube video is enabled at Sys Admin level and at course level. The
other mash ups (Flickr and SlideShare) are both working fine.
A ticket has also been raised with Bb.
With best wishes,
