We have a vacancy for a Research Fellow/ Lecturer to work in the
Department’s Tropical Epidemiology Group (TEG), a large international
group of statisticians and epidemiologists working on a number of
population-based studies and randomised trials in malaria, tuberculosis,
HIV and other infectious diseases. The post holder will focus on
statistical methodological work arising from data collected from our
various collaborations. This will include the development and
application of novel statistical methods. The person appointed will
prepare research findings for publication. He/she will be based in
London but will be expected to travel occasionally to the field sites in
Africa and Asia.
Applicants should have a PhD in the field of statistics or closely
related field and relevant experience of working as a medical
statistician, focussed on methodology, preferably in an epidemiological
context. The ability to work both independently and as a member of a
multidisciplinary scientific team is essential.
The appointment will initially be for 2 years and will be made on the
School’s Research Fellow or Lecturer scales starting at £35,370 to
£43,922 inclusive per annum. This is a full time position but
requests to work part time would be considered.
