Role and Responsibilities
• Accountable for the development and delivery of complex models (retention, acquisition, up sell cross sell etc.) to the CVM and segment teams
• Responsible for the timely delivery of the tactical model scoring processes
• Strive to continuously review and improve that tactical processes used within the modelling team
• Proactively challenging activities, campaigns and project objectives within the modelling space to ensure optimal ROI is achieved
• Directly influence the development of the modelling roadmap
• Influence the development of the data estate by proactively identifying new fields / variables that could potentially increase the power of predictive models
• Seek out new modelling approaches and techniques that may add value to the business, ensure these are investigated in a timely and business focussed manner.
Experience and Skills
• Degree (or higher) within a technical subject such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or Operations Research
• Knowledge of database marketing principles
• Experience of the development and deployment of analytical models for targeted database marketing
• Exposure to a range of modelling techniques
• Demonstrable proficiency in SAS and SQL – experience with KXEN or other modelling software desirable.
• Experience of working in a direct marketing department is desirable
• A pragmatic approach to work that focuses on meeting deadlines and delivering within a production environment.
• Excellent communicator to stakeholders, able to explain complex technical information in a simple to understand way
