The Irish Transport Research Network (ITRN) is now calling for papers for its annual conference to be held this year in University College Cork, Ireland from the 31st of August to the 1st of September.
The theme of the conference is ‘Transport and Energy’. Suitable topics include but are not limited to:
• renewable energy & transport electrification;
• alternative fuel vehicles e.g. natural gas as a transport fuel, CNG & biofuels;
• transport & the environment e.g. gaseous emissions & noise;
• transport policy, planning & society;
• transport infrastructure, technology & materials;
• public transport & smarter travel including ICT & ITS;
• transport economics & regulation;
• transport & safety;
• logistics & freight transport i.e. railway, maritime & aviation;
• motorised two-wheeled modes of transport;
• non-mechanised modes of transport.
Submission Requirements:
• The deadline for acceptance of abstracts is the 28th February 2011.
• Abstracts (maximum word count 500) must be submitted via www.itrn.ie
• Authors will be notified of acceptance (or rejection) of abstracts for either the oral or poster sessions via email by the 31st of March 2011.
• Full papers will be due on the 31st of June 2011 & must be prepared in accordance with the procedures outlined in the ITRN Authors Kit available on the ITRN webpage. Revised papers will be required by the 31st July.
• At least one author of each paper or poster must register for the conference and pay the appropriate fee before an accepted paper will be released for publication in the conference proceedings.
Cork the venue for ITRN2011 was listed as one of the top ten cities in the world to visit in the Lonely Planet Guide 2010. The guide said Cork was now “at the top of its game: sophisticated, vibrant and diverse”.
ITRN2011 is an opportunity for industry professionals & academia to promote, share & discuss issues and developments in the field of transportation.
