where are you getting libcnf-dev from? Is that from rpms that someone has made of the Starlink software? We don't release rpms. If you are building from source you should no need an external libcnf-dev for f77.h because "make world" will have already installed CNF before it gets to GWM.
I also just looked back at the first message. I hope you aren't building from SVN. We stopped using SVN two years ago.
