attaining the "haiku spirit" has been instrumental in me developing even a
semblance of a fully rounded sense of poetics. it is poetry at its core for
me, a direct voicing of a sensibility necessary for poetry. haiku are at the
same time transparent and yet completely immersive. Basho and Issa
especially mean a great deal to me. thanks for stirring slightly dormant
