My major worry was that someone in JISC was monitoring UKOER for stats. I'm not fussed about politics / semantics, I leave that to Winston.
10053 Items tagged as UKOER as Xpert
Of those only 9957 have CC License
So aren't OER
25420 items have a ".ac.uk" address and a CC license however
So UKOER for non UKOER projects isn't a trend per say, or even a requirement. Apols Fred.
I'd also agree that UKOER as a word has no place in the dc:subject tag
But that's my opinion, feel free to do it.

Or perhaps even better as dc terms are repeatable you could have:
<dc:subject>ukoer</dc:subject>
<dc:subject>oer</dc:subject>
From a metadata point of view i'd probably rather see this go into dc:description http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/description as dc:subject should be about the topic of the resource.
However, if Pat has said XPert's looking for a UKOER tag in DC subject putting it in dc:description isn't going to help :-)
Are any other discovery / aggregation services on the list specifically looking for this tag in metadata (and if so where are you looking?)?
Cheers,
john
