Hi,
I have seen and given as prescribed temazepam in the latent phase of labour both when working in the U.K (warrington, billinge and shrewsbury) and when working in New Zealand.
As far as I was aware codeine in the last trimester of pregnancy was contraindicated and so we preferred not to use it.
It would be interesting to understand the difference between the use of diamorphine and temazepam and considering that I've been asked to write a lit review about the use of pethidine and how it should be banned it is intriguing to see much more powerful drugs being used.
Cheers
