Dear all,
Johannes Noller - Wednesday 2/2/11 4.30pm - Maths 103 QMUL
We continue our QMUL Relativity and Cosmology seminars this Wednesday
the 2nd February at 4.30pm in the usual
place, Room 103 of the Maths Building on the Mile End Campus. The
speaker is Johannes Noller of Imperial College
who will be talking about "Non-Gaussianity in single field models
without slow-roll". The abstract is below.
As always, for directions to the building and a list of upcoming
seminars please go to our wiki site at http://cosrel.maths.qmul.ac.uk .
The School of Mathematical Sciences is undertaking a major
refurbishment programme that will radically change the design to our
building both externally and internally. During the reconstruction, we
regret that access to the building will be limited. If this could
impact upon your intention to attend a seminar, please contact Bill
White on 0207 882 5514 or email to [log in to unmask] to discuss your
particular requirements.
Best wishes,
Ian

Non-Gaussianity in single field models without slow-roll
Johannes Noller
In inflationary theories, single field models are typically considered
subject to slow-roll conditions. However, as I will show in this talk,
current observational constraints allow significant violations of
these conditions. Focussing on non-Gaussian signals, I will discuss a
variety of new observational signatures that can be found for
fast-rolling single fields.
