Hi John
There is an application called 'Flashrecall', mentioned a while ago on a library list, that alerts users logging out of a PC that their memory stick is still plugged in. The library in question (can't remember which it was now) found it dramatically reduced the number of lost and handed-in USB sticks. Details can be found at: http://www.byteboosters.org/flashrecall/index.htm#en.
We have asked our IT dept to review this with a view to having it installed on our public library PCs.
Regards
Louise

Subject: Forgotten USB sticks - any solutions?
Aside from:
- putting up posters (which get ignored after Day 1)
- displaying a reminder message after logging off (not read in the rush to leave)
- putting a message on 'wobblers' on tops of monitors (not read and/or soon pulled off)
has anyone got any ideas/solutions as to how to remind students to take their USB sticks with them?
Thanks,
John
