Thinking of this part of it does anyone know how these low income scientists deal with Open Access? Is there a special deal for OA for these scientists?
After all they want their publications to be as available to the world as much as we do. If we are having to pay exorbitant fees to make articles OA what hope do they have?
And if publications are going to have to be paid for, why would OA discounts (if they exist) be any different in the future?
