The Lancet also contains a very good comment piece on free access to developing nations. It looks as if it is not just Bangladesh that has been targeted - apparently almost half of the poorest nations have seen journals withdrawn:

While we can protest such moves, in the long term then best thing we can do is ensure that as many UK research outputs are available in open access as possible - both in OA journals and repositories. That way access to the material won't be at the whim of publishers, for whom free access is not a primary motivation.
