Senior Archivist (Public Services)
£28,636 - £30,851
Two-year Fixed Term
Subsequent to a recent service review, Bristol Museums and Archives is
poised to enter a new and exciting phase; one in which it will become
even more integrated and audience-focused with learning and communities
at its heart.
As one of the key sites in Bristol Museums and Archives, Bristol Record
Office is now seeking to appoint a Senior Archivist to develop the
public facing aspects of its popular and highly regarded service. You
will need a postgraduate qualification in archive administration and
relevant professional archives experience. In your role as leader of our
public service team you will be required to design, deliver and evaluate
effective public-facing archives work programmes. You will be passionate
about optimising the customer offer and developing our audience base.
You will lead on the preparation and delivery of archives publicity,
including online presence and media liaison. All aspects of this role
will require you to build partnerships both within and outside the
public sector. The post is an ideal development opportunity for those
wishing to widen the range of their professional experience.
Previously offered on a short-term basis, this post is now available as
a two-year fixed term contract or secondment.
For an informal discussion about this post please call 0117 922 4224
and ask for Richard Burley or Talei Rounds.
Closing date: 28 January 2011.
