I'm currently having a discussion with my paediatric colleagues here
(who mainly use lucozade currently!)
Is anyone aware of an published studies or guidelines regarding polycal
vs lucozade vs anhydrous glucose and glucose solutions?

Approx. 1250 GTTs were done in the hospital in the past year.
There were an additional 850+ done in GP surgeries.
I tried to persuade them to do this many years ago, without success, but
I wish you luck. It would make things easier for everyone doing GTTs.

Subject: GTT dosing - possibility of 113mL packs of Polycal?
Dear All,
Our pharmacy department have been in touch with Nutricia, the makers of
Polycal, to enquire whether it is possible to distribute Polycal
pre-measured as 113mL (equivalent of 75g glucose). They have responded
that, although it is not feasible if it is just one hospital who would
like to use it, if there was sufficient demand they would investigate
it.
I was therefore wondering if anyone who would be interested in this
could email me with a rough estimate of how many Polycal doses for GTT
they may be interested in purchasing annually. I will then collate this
information and hope that we can create a sufficient demand!
Many thanks and Merry Christmas
Clare
