Hi Elizabeth; Kathryn again (already;),
You know who studies and writes on the juncture you're interested in, is Ann
Taves at UCSB. She's recent President of AAR/American Academy of Religion,
and I believe is a practicing Catholic: so she is both a practitioner and a
scholar, with a wealth of healthy balance in-between. You should be able to
find her contact information on their website:

All Best!
Kathryn
