Fixed-Term Tutor in German
Salary scale: £26,523 per annum (pro-rata if part time).
Applicants are invited for the position of Tutor in German, in the
College of Arts and Humanities, reference 5653. This is a fixed-term
position from 1 January 2011 to 31 July 2011.
The position will involve teaching German language at all levels,
especially German-English translation, and contributing to team-taught
modules on German and European literature and culture. The post-holder
will also be expected to contribute to the administrative functions of
the German section and the Department of Modern Languages.
The successful candidate will have a degree in German or a related
subject and demonstrate a high degree of competence in spoken and
written German. Native speakers of German should be thoroughly
competent in English. Completion or near-completion of a PhD in a
relevant field would be desirable.
