Writer in Residence & Tutor in Creative Writing
University of Edinburgh - College of Humanities and Social Science, School
of Literatures, Languages and Cultures

Applications are invited for a part-time (0.8) post combining the roles of
Writer in Residence and Tutor in Creative Writing, based in the department
of English Literature. Located within the School of Literatures, Languages
and Cultures, English Literature is an exceptionally strong subject area,
rated among the top three departments in the UK in RAE 2008 and awarded a
5*A rating in RAE 2001.

The University wishes to appoint a highly capable person who will fulfil and
develop the University-wide role of Writer in Residence while also
contributing to the thriving Creative Writing MSc.

The appointee will be a published writer of prose fiction. S/he will also
have experience of teaching Creative Writing to a varied cohort of talented
and demanding students, at University level or equivalent. S/he will also
have demonstrable organisational skills, as well as established connections
in the professional literary world in Edinburgh, central Scotland or beyond.

The appointment is for a fixed term of 2 years, starting in April 2011.

Salary Scale: £25,001 - £28,983 pro rata
