I've just updated perl to v5.12.2 in the starlink tree. You can ignore it for the moment unless you are feeling brave because doing a new build will require all perl modules to be rebuilt (5.12.2 won't look for binary modules from older perl versions).
Doing a
git submodule update
from the top level after a pull will be helpful though since it will stop someone from committing a revert to the previous perl by mistake.
