Hi Joel,
Has this been achieved in the Further Education Sector? I note that you work in an FE College and my recollection of FE was never that good.

Dave

Subject: Disabled Students in Higher Education
Colleagues,
I would really like to see a system established for the Disabled Student Allowance which is consistent, and secures the highest possible provision for disabled students in Higher Education across the country. Clearly the current arrangements are not consistent in terms of the required qualifications for Non Medical Helpers or fees charged. In my view this current arrangement is highly problematic, and does not always by default ensure the highest quality of provision. It also makes the arrangement of services / support very difficult in some circumstances for disability practioners.
I would hope that this forum, which has an exceptionally high level of expertise in this area, might inform the views / policy of the new government, so have copied to Michael Gove and Maria Miller. I'd hope that they might take advantage of our collective expertise.
Regards, Joel
