If this happened in my local authority, I would be advising that it is at
the very least a disciplinary offence and if the management wanted to
pursue it, an offence under section 55 of the DPA 1998.
Many Thanks

[data-protection] Internal breach
I work in an FE college and we have a student disciplinary going on at
present. The parent of the student is also a member of staff at the
college and has used college systems to access information about her son
in order to prepare her case. She is not involved in teaching her son and
has no professional reason to have done this.
If anyone needs further information I can discuss more off the list.
Regards, Rachel
