Subject: WES E-Special Issues - Call for proposals
Dear Colleagues,
**Apologies for cross-posting**
E-specials call for proposals
Deadline: 20 January 2011
Proposal Details: www.britsoc.co.uk/publications/pubsvacancies.htm
In September 2010, WES launched a new initiative: E-special Issues.
These online collections group archived WES articles with a new
introduction enabling the research community to identify and access the
development of particular debates and key articles on a particular
theme.
The first E-special issue:
Managerial control and workplace regimes
http://wes.sagepub.com/cgi/collection
The editors of Work Employment and Society invite proposals for future
e-special issues.
Each e-special issue will focus on a particular theory, concept,
methodology, debate or empirical development or topic. Each will consist
of an introductory overview of up to 3000 words and a collection of
papers selected from the journal archive. The introductory overview
will comment on that theme's importance, the contributions made by the
articles selected and, perhaps, future theoretical and/or empirical
directions and/or issues.
Proposals will consist of the following:
-a completed application form (including theme title, rationale &
selected articles)
-a 1-page CV for each guest editor
-a statement of appropriateness for each guest editor
The application form and a list of articles published in WES until Sept
2009 is available online:
www.britsoc.co.uk/publications/pubsvacancies.htm
Applicants should feel free to use all of the published content in WES,
not just that contained in the archive. The full WES back catalogue is
available online to subscribers: http://wes.sagepub.com
Applicants should have a clear vision of the purpose and content of
their special issue. They should be willing to work closely with the
journal chair and editors and publisher to produce and promote the
special issue.
Editors are happy to discuss potential e-special issues. For queries,
please contact Professor Chris Warhurst at [log in to unmask]
