Greetings!
>The Temple in Bristol was the Hermes Temple
About 15 years ago I sold some of the Temple regalia of the Hermes
temple of the Stella Matutina, which was the offshoot of the Golden Dawn
that operated in Bristol. It had passed down to relatives of Christine
Hughs, who was an important figure in the Temple. They were active in
Rudolf Steiner's Anthroposophical Society, which many Golden Dawn
members did move into, which is a story in itself!
The lamen were made in three different ways, mostly a tin like metal
with enamel, one was brass with enamel, and a number were painted
Bakelite. They were very well made, the metal ones had clearly been
professionally made, and the Bakelite ones looked really good.
There were also some magical swords belonging to individual members of
the group. These were far more amateur, being blades that had been
adapted to the purpose and painted. One was a First World War bayonet.
My best wishes
Ben
