Hi,
Bruce Archer, at the Codesigning Conference at Coventry University in 2000, suggested that there was a thirty year lag between advanced know-how, practice and education.
When reading Don's articles, I often find myself thinking of this 30 year gap.
Tenna mentioned Tony Fry's writing 20 years ago. I could, if I had the time, put together a whole bibliography going back to the 1930s, at least.
I cannot comment on industrial design, but in the field of information design many of the issues raised by Don have been addressed and are part of the courses we teach today. BTW, this is taking place outside the University sector.
