Well, that's a shame, Francis - I'm sure I wasn't the only one who hoped you were going to rush in as usual and save us having to do the work...
I claim no special knowledge at all of G.W. Bacon, but was curious and note from a quick trip to the virtual reference shelves:
2. In 1919 the firm moved to Norwich Street, London (this is stated in David Smith's DNB entry for G.W. Bacon)
3. In David Smith's 'Victorian maps of the British Isles' (London: Batsford, 1985), p.126, he states that the imprint of Bacon's Dispatch Atlas county maps changed "from c.1876 to 'Bacon's Map Establishment, 127 Strand". Ralph Hyde's 'Printed Maps of Victorian London, 1851-1900' (Folkesone: Dawson, 1975) records imprints of Bacon's Geographical Establishment slightly later, from the 1880s.
That's my tuppenceworth. Hopefully an inspiration for others to move on in and do better...
Chris

Rather than rush in ('as usual', mutter some . . .) I'll just sit back
and await input from others:)

I am trying to date a couple of maps by G.W. Bacon & Co. and was
wondering if anybody could help answer a few questions.
1) Does anybody know of a way to date by print codes for Bacon maps?
2) When did they move to Norwich St.
3) When did they use "Bacon's Geographical Establishment" on their maps.
Any assistance greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Huw
