Liz,
I've got to say, I am somewhat astounded at your comments. What you are saying to Sharon, in essence, is that she should not be so sensitive to the expletive laden and somewhat offensive comments of one group member and how, just because they are an infrequent poster and to your taste then we should just ignore it.
I would be interested to know what the University of Birmingham's ICT usage policy has to say about the use of expletives in emails, I am sure, like any academic institution, it is not only frowned upon but might in fact be a disciplinary issue.
I am sure JISC may also have an issue with one of its resources being used in such a way.
Ian

Hi Sharon
If you find Larry's (or anyone's) postings irrelevant, then you should be able to block his email address within your email account.
For myself, the posts are not that frequent and often amusing and/or informative, that I always read them. Just because we're academics and/or disabled, doesn't mean we have to be serious all the time, does it?
Regards, Liz

Hi there
I"m emailing the list owner, and everyone, including Larry to ask that Larry
please try to keep your postings more academically and disability related - my
understanding of this site is that it is more for serious discussion and sharing
of events and views and not for rather inappropriate ramblings - perhaps there
is another site for this available.
Thanks for considering this - maybe the list moderator could send us
all a copy of the list guidelines.
Thanks, Sharon , Seattle, WA, US
I
