The ICO's website has posted a very brief statement yesterday that Darren Hames pleaded guilty at Warrington Crown Court to two offences under s55 of the Data Protection Act. Sentencing is due to take place in the New Year.
No other information is provided but a search of the web reveals that Darren Hames is one of two former T-Mobile employees involved in the theft and sale of T-Mobile's customer data to a third party. The other individual, David Turley, admitted to 18 charges of unlawfully selling personal data contrary to s55 DPA 1998 at Chester Crown Court in July.
