Dear All,

There is a UK Occupational Health Nurses Facebook Group with a page
where jobs can be posted. Many organisations and people have already
used this and I would urge you to visit the site. Many of the people
who use the jiscmail list are also with the FB Group.

Hello Dean,

I can understand why you say what you say. I would ask, however, that
you think through the issues/reasons which have been discussed
previously on the list; you will have read them since you became a
subscriber.

In particular, the list has been set up and all operating costs are
carried by HEFCE (Higher Education Funding Council of England) which
receives its funding from the taxpayer. It was never set up as a
general networking list but is intended to inform and improve debates
and issues current in the field of occupational health. It is an
international discussion list aimed at academics and practitioners
which, as you will have read, is a different remit to advertising jobs
available in the UK for one specific practitioner group (within the many
professions who work to improve the health of people at work. There are
excellent publications for this already: not only do those publications
derive income from advertising, they also provide services and fund
activities because of that income.

Anne Harris, who looks after the list with me, has several times pointed
out that in the current economic climate (and public policy) the lists
supported by jiscmail could be vulnerable. Taking income away from
legitimate enterprises by acting as a free advertising source for
recruiters who receive enviable bonuses for placing staff is not a good
way of showing that the list is fit for purpose and worthy of public
funding.

The list is fixed now, please don't break it.

Kevin

No one likes being told what they can or can not do, however i feel that

due to the climate of Occupational Health opportunities any information
on
jobs is a benefit. I thought this was for networking about Occupational
Health issues. One could argue the all the "Friday Funnies" that fill my

in box could also be questioned!

If is aint broke............

Personally I prefer the following aliases for our new
Government:

                 Conservative Party - Slytherin House

                 David Cameron - Draco Malfoy

                 George Osborne - Vincent Crabbe

                 Two ads, two subscribers removed.

I really hate playing the policeman and I certainly
don't
want
to have to sound pompous talking about "for the good of all". Remember
David "The Axe" Cameron and George "Stiletto" Osborne are looking for
ways of cutting down public spending. Publically funded services that
deprive business of income are asking Government to slash their blades
in their direction.

All that Anne Harris and I ask for, on behalf of all
the
busy
and serious subscribers, is responsible behaviour.

                 Kind regards
